Westernaires is a precision mounted drill riding group, this blog was used to record my time at Westernaires. I leased a 21 year old quarter horse draft mix named Bo. Prior I rented and rode Stretch, Chey, and GoldDust. My teams were T1, J1 (Top Junior),White Star (Captain), Colorado Stampede (Captain), Nighthorse Rangers, Royal Rangers, Red Liberty, Red Ropes, White Vaulting, White Batons, Jr. Instructor, and Jr. Wrangler. I now ride on the Evergreen Drill Team since I graduated in 2017

An easy week for once!
I really didn't have a lot going on yesterday so that was a nice change of pace. I came out pretty early for a trainer meeting at 8:45. I didn't have any trainee changes so that was a relief. One of them wasn't there so I took another drill for my friend. They only had 10 diagrams so grading wasn't too hard. Vaulting was at 10 so it conflicted with training. Then I went and played with my friends horses for a bit before my walkthrough at 12. I went to sign out my horse and I still had Warrior! I think it's safe to say he is my new assignment! I'm going to really miss GoldDust and we had a wonderful 8 months together. For the ride he was in a mood but he did pretty good. We were 1-6 and L6 for Crimson and Lace and then 2-3 and 3-1 for Flag. We finally got four drills in again!!! During the first drill we were coming together for fours and Troy lashed out at Warrior but got my shin with his hoof instead. Boy did that hurt and I have a beautiful bruise to show for it. Besides that our Crimson and Lace drills were really good but our flag drill needs a lot of work still. I really love riding the precisionette drills and they are a ton of fun but for the sake of the team I'm ready to go back to one drill. Warrior wasn't as sweaty as normal so that was a real treat! My sister had liberty at 4 so I stuck around until then and went home.
