So today was rough for me. My personal ride went really well. Guess what! I got Rayo #85. He was an absolute angel. Rayo was right at the gate so i didn't have to trek through the muck. He tried to pull away but I kept a good grip. It was too muddy for him to run. He was so patient during grooming and let me get the hard crusty mud off. I was so grateful for that. We rode in the White today. We did some warm ups and got to do quite a bit of loping. Rayo was perfect! He did amazing flying lead changes! The drill however did not go so well. We had 5 fours today and I rode 1-5. I got to call the 2nd half of the drill :) So that was nice. We trotted all of our drills today. We had to restart like 5 times. It wasn't very good at all. Then we had walkthroughs. We did one with the same line up. Then I got switched to 1-1. I called every drill today either first or last half. They said we would probably be somewhere close to this for show. I'm super happy with my position. Unfortunately our instructors told us we would be trotting White Division show. We are going to be the only AAA team trotting :( I'm literally reliving last year all over again. At least my team has great chemistry and we all get along. Then I studied with my friend for an hour and left.

At least your day went better than mine. Mine was exhausting.
ReplyDeleteWhy was it exhausting and did you guys name officers???
DeleteWell my special goofball Bingo decided he wanted to ride point and was being extremely stubborn. Then, after that renters had to walk our horses up and a huge storm of rain and hail came on which not only hurt, but freaked out a lot of the horses. It was chaos and we all ended up being soaked. :( Ah well. As for officers our instructors are thinking about it.
DeleteYeah I'm so over all this rain. Miya really causing a lot of problems. Bingo can have his bratty days.
DeleteYeah, I think it was the weather and he looked tired when I got him from the other class. Totally agree with you on the rain!
DeleteI'm also sorry about Stampede having to ride the show at a trot. That sucks. :( Hopefully your team will learn from this and be more motivated to work together and study to lope next show and do better the rest of their time on the team!
ReplyDeleteThanks. I appreciate it. I hope it brings it into perspective. I don't think they understand how embarrassing it is. I had that happen last year. I have a feeling we will pull it together for olympics
DeleteNo problem. All teams are different and some take more time to come together than others. Your team just needs to realize that what they do as individuals affects everyone as a whole. One person can mess up a whole team and it really comes down to you guys whether it works or not. :) I hope Colorado Stampede can pull it together, you guys can do it. I know it.
DeleteAt least you get a fun position!
DeleteI just realized I won't ride in this show this year or White Olympics...wow....
ReplyDeleteThat's got to be wierd. But you get annual!!!!
DeleteIt is! I at least get to be in the Specialty show because of batons, but no base team! And I'm so excited for my first Annual! I wonder which team I'll be on then. And I also get to perform at Interclub! Yay!
DeleteInterclub will be fun and I'm looking forward to batons
DeleteYeah, I hope it doesn't rain! Batons will be fun
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry to hear about show :( hopefully this will help you get better for White Olympics though! And we didn't even get to ride because we got cancelled on for weather }:(
ReplyDeleteYeah that's the nice thing about riding early. I just hate that I keep not getting to lope anything ever.
DeleteTHIS RAIN IS KILLING ME ITS GOING TO RAIN AGAIN THIS WEEK AND ITS OUR LAST RIDE TILL INTERCLUB UGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteYou just have to believe with all your heart and soul it won't rain
