Decision Day

I asked the owner of Bo if I could ride him in a liberty class prior to deciding to lease him and she agreed, so I rode in WL4 and Bo did fantastic!!! I decided right then and there just to go for it. I felt like I couldn't pass this lease up. I rode my last rental horse in JI at 10am, Cisco. It was so weird thinking I won't ever rent again... After 4 years it's going to be a huge shift. For Red Ropes we were in the volunteer and we started playing around with some super cool trick ideas. One of them has two ropers dragging and two people spoke hoping around and then switching like a figure 8. Royal's walkthrough was cancelled so I got to go to Circus Horse Tryouts. I got SOOO close to getting on Jill by myself. Once I'm up I don't have an issues, it's just getting up that is difficult. We ended a little early so I got to watch some of my sister's ride at 12 and then the beginning of Crimson at 1. Bo was already saddled because he rode Nighthorse so I basically just adjusted everything and bridled him. Royal was a hot mess. We did warm ups for 35 minutes and had to individually practice turning 8's at a trot. Even when we finally got together and started our drills they weren't good. I rode 3-6 the first drill and 4-8 the second drill. OUTSIDE OF PROPELLER FINALLY!!!!!!!!!! After a year of waiting it was finally my turn. We didn't get to go as fast as we wanted to though because of how bad our team was doing. Bo was fantastic as always. I'm super excited to bond with him. I don't know why Royal is struggling so much but I hope we get it together soon because coming every week isn't as enjoyable right now. I had a nice break after that because vaulting wasn't until 5. We rode another one of my leaser's horses and she is gaited so she is super smooth!!! It was a really nice treat :) I helped load up the trailers and I headed home :) I sent out the emails and officially declared ownership! Looking forward to my first official saturday as an owner!!!!!

Potential Lease!

Yesterday was exciting! I rode my boy Warrior for JI at 8 and they tried out for Junior Grand Entry, he did amazing as usual. Then I graded from 9-11 for Nighthorse. After that I watched my sister in Nighthorse and she rode Warrior! I was so happy for her. Then at 1:30 instead of going to the wrangler table I went to the trailers. I was trying out a lease horse named Bo. He's a quarter horse draft horse mix. He's also a dun so he is gorgeous :) His gaits are incredible so that's a huge plus. The tips of his ears are black so it looks like they have been dipped in charcoal. We rode 4-1, 3-2, and 2-4. So team all three drills! He did great and was super tired at the end. We were splitting at the rail getting ready to come out and we were going right and he turned right and then shot to the left so that threw me off balance and for some odd reason he bucked. I flew and hit the dirt. HARD. I had the wind knocked out of me. I had first aid guys with me in seconds. They got me breathing right and let me stand when I was ready. I turned around and got back on and trotted back to my team at the crows nest. I am SUPER sore today but otherwise unharmed. The posse guys complimented my tuck and roll lol. I rode liberty a few hours later on Amigo and called all three drills. He did great! I'm hoping to get a call for another Red Liberty tryout soon. I need to try Bo out in liberty before I decide to lease him for that reason. But I'm feeling good about it!!

Happy Reunion!!!!

My morning started at 6:30am, no surprise hahaha. Well I got Drover for JI again he did really well! I had a lot of fun with him and he keeps a good speed for JI. Then I raced to training where I graded 4 drills!!! It's amazing I got them all done! Then I FINALLY had Red Ropes after we had been canceled for almost three months. I worked a lot on 60ft and got all the way out. I worked on a few double tricks and double spoke hop as well as step through. You could say I was glad to be back. I went to my walkthrough at 12 and found out I could've gone to week 1/3 of circus horse tryouts. Ugh I guess I will just have to go next week. My walkthrough ended in time so I could catch the end of nighthorse. Then I watched the first portion of crimson and then headed to checkout my horse. I HAD MY POTATO BACK!!!!!! Once I climbed in her saddle and the ride started I realized how much I actually missed her.... I'm starting to want her back instead of Warrior because I had her for so long. We had an amazing ride together including some flying lead changes!!!!!! But as far as the team went.... not so good. I was 1-2, then I got called to ride 2-1, and finally 2-7. Our whole ride was just a mess, and during the last drill a girls horse got pushed out of propeller and tripped on his feet, stumbled and fell on her legs. My team had the perfect reaction and we all immediately stopped and moved away so first aid could do their job. She got taken to the hospital but had no broken bones and should be riding with us next week! I really hope that we will get it together soon because senior year is sucking right now :(. I unsaddled GoldDust and Stretch and got Honey ready for vaulting. As soon as warm ups started I could feel something wasn't right, she was limping so I took her back up top while my partner went to get an owner horse for us to use. We spent the class practicing vaulting while moving, butt vaulting, and running on the butts. If my partner makes circus horse and I don't I will probably quit, I'm beginning to get a little bored. Luckily we didn't have a horse to take home so I got to leave at about 6:15. So almost 12 hours.

Bittersweet Day

So Saturday Royal Rangers lost 9 girls to Precisionettes, but I will get to that later in this post. I started out my day early as usually at 6:30 to JI. I got to ride Drover again and he did really well! I got to demo a few flying lead changes too. Then I graded diagrams for NHR from 9 - 11. I didn't have anything again until Royal at 2. I got Warrior ready and headed to the ride. We rode 3 flag drills and I rode 3-2, 1-6 (but a graduating girl bumped me to point), and 3-4. Our first two drills were great but the last one we kind of fell apart. Then we did our promotion lines and bade farewell to our new sweethearts. I'm going to miss them. I wasn't expecting to promote because I was a senior so I wasn't too upset. Then one of our teammates informed us she had to quit so I suggested we make the lines again and let her have her final ride as well. It was very sad. Royal is super small now so I'm thinking we will be getting new girls when Nighthorse is finished with training but it's hard to tell. Warrior went to precisionettes and I heard he did well and he did great for royal too! I'm starting to figure out his cues so it's getting easier for the both of us. He bloats a lot so there are some scary moments with the saddle lol. I hope we start riding with flags again soon. Then I unsaddled him and got ready for Liberty. I FINALLY GOT TRINIDAD! I was so excited to finally have a good liberty horse again! We did the drill three times with jumps. I called twice and did a ton of no hands jumps. I'm really working toward a second chance at Red Liberty. It was amazing. Then I took him home and that was my day!
