White Ropes 5 - 31 - 14

Wow today was exhausting. I helped wrangle in the morning. We could NOT find Emma we looked everywhere. We found her 10 minutes before T1 and T9 were supposed to leave, plus she was in the wrong pen so she got beat up and had a good gash on her leg. So my friend and I groomed her and got her saddled. All the horses were acting really weird today. I don't know what it was. I got to ride one of my friend's horses. It was a really pretty buckskin. She helped give me some pointers for Interclub next weekend. Then I had class. Ropes was really fun. We did flat loop routine like 5 times and I got to call one of them! Then we lined up for our drill. I did every trick except jump the honda. I tried accordion but I don't think I am going to preform that one at show. My friend and I also tried Drag Hop. It's where one person drags the rope while the other spoke hops around the outside. It was really fun. I also got Double Spoke Hop!!!! I had it for like 4 seconds but still. I was so proud of myself. Also more people can do crazy legs. I taught it to a bunch of people today too. I am also learning Birdie in a cage. It's like double wedding ring but you do a butterfly while the 20 is spinning around you. Then I helped unsaddle. Guess who I helped. A.C.!!!!! The poor girl was terrified of him. I don't blame her, he is nuts! I also helped Ringo, Blue, Maverick, and a few others. Overall I am SOOOOO TIRED! Here are the tricks I am planning on preforming for White Show if they are selected.

White Star Grooming #2

So grooming tonight was interesting. I got Bobbie #121. Of course I get a white horse who loves to roll in the mud. He did ok for grooming except for the fact could not get his feet/legs clean. I had to try for a groom check like 3 times. I finally got his feet to an OK cleanness and got saddled. Then I got a tack check. But I didn't get to finish unsaddling because I had to go watch the leg wrap demo. Cisco was not behaving. We also watched how to trim the horses but Triple A is the class that does that. Then I put Bobbie's tack away. And grabbed a light green leg wrap. We have to do a front and opposite back. I got the front one but put the back one on backwards. I figured it out after though, it was actually kind of fun. Overall it was a really good night.

Best Ride Ever (FLAGS)

WOW!!!! So today was absolutely amazing!!!! So for J1 I got Buffy #103. She was amazing for grooming. Except for the fact that she has boots and her feet were all muddy from the rain last night. So they said let it dry and clean it off after the ride. For Juniors we worked a lot on Interclub and leads. Buffy would NOT pick up the right lead. She was fine on the left lead but I could not switch her to the right no matter what I tried. But her trot was amazing so collected and smooth. Then she also wouldn't listen when I would try to circle back and get space. She just wanted to follow other horses. Otherwise she was fine. After I cleaned her legs and put the support boots back on. Then for White Star. It was a dream come true. We rode with flags again!!!! I got Splatter #19. I got to ride with one of the old Blue Ranger flags. They are White, Blue, and Orange. Also a lot heavier material so much harder to ride with but I didn't care. It wasn't a baby flag. So we loped the entire first part of class with flags. LOPED. We built pairs at a lope, 4's, reversed, and circled. It was awesome! I was ecstatic. Now I know what red division gets to do every ride. Then we rode our first drill with flags. I was 2-1. It was nice riding a different position besides 1-2. So I got to lead into a bunch of maneuvers. Our drill was amazing! Everyone was on top of their game today and we did so good. I could not believe it. Danielle rode with us too. I love riding with flags ahhh!!!! Loping with them is even better. I can not even describe the feeling. Splatter is a little bumpy but she changes leads perfectly. Then for the second drill I was 3-2. WesternaireLover called. We only made it to circle though before we had to dismount. I could not believe how well that ride went. Then at the end they told us they tested us on equitation. Surprise!!!! I hope I did well. They said they will compare it to our score in the fall to see how much we improve. For the walk through I was 3-2, CP, and 3-1. It wasn't to bad being a CP kind of fun but I would not want to ride there all the time. Then we also did the drill only calling HO. No command in front. We did perfect! Then a twist for the last one. We went through the drill then they had us walk through it BACKWARDS! Oh my gosh it was so hard. They said we didn't do to terrible though. After was our team builder. We were put in groups and went on a scavenger hunt all around Westernaires. It was really fun. We had to get signatures from first aid, a current Nighthorse Rider, a wrangler, and find info like tack numbers, and how many horse slots in the red arena. It was great and I feel like it really brought us together. Our reward was ice water and ice cream which was amazing cause it was so hot. I couldn't have asked for a better day.

White Star Grooming #1

So tonight was my first grooming class for White Star. It was intense. First we had our lecture down at the far end and then we cleaned saddles. You clean all the leather parts with leather cleaner. My partner and I cleaned Flame's saddle. The cleaning stuff was really sticky. Then we got our horses. I got Cedar #41. I was so happy. It was raining pretty hard but the pasture actually wasn't too muddy, except in a couple sections. The worst section of course was right where Cedar was. For AA we have to do show grooming ( we will also be learning leg wraps next week). Cedar was not the best for show groom. It took awhile but we eventually accepted each other. The only problem was brushing the back legs. She did not like it. Then I saddled, brushed her mane and tail and barely finished in time. Then we learned how next week would work and got our study packets. Overall a good class. Now time to go to bed and be back in 9 hours or so.

Guess the Horse!!!

So my friend WesternaireLover suggested that I follow her lead and create a trivia to guess a Westernaire horse based on a simple description. I am planning to post once a week! Good Luck!

I am a small bay mare who can run Red Team. I am 7 years old. I have a blaze on my face and many brands on my butt. I sort of look like Rebel's twin and my number is between 48 - 52. Who am I?

Rope Pictures

So today was rope pictures. I came in the morning and helped out the Tenderfeet. The pasture was pretty muddy so finding horses was difficult. I helped a girl find Belle with the trick on her neck. Who knew that was going to be so helpful. I also found Skeeter and tried to find Maverick. Then I helped groom A.C. That horse is nuts. Somehow I always end up helping him. Then I helped bridle Blaze, Skeeter, and Star. I watched JGE and T1. Then I  went to the tack truck back by the horse pasture. For ropes our costumes were just in large plastic bags. We checked in and put on our black jeans, black belt, white shoes, vest, cuffs, and headband. Our headbands are green sequels. We had our purple cuff on our left hand and our green cuff on the right. For our picture we were sitting down with our ropes in front of us. Again I was in the middle row. The new batons costumes are really cool. They have fire skirts with a black and red sparkly tank top. The we went back and changed. I had to go home after that. I had family plans. Class is in 2 hours at 3. I am dying knowing that I am missing it. Oh well it was still a fun day but weird only being there for 4 hours instead if 9 - 10. Write on Friday for my first grooming class for White Star!

Post 100! - Picture Day

So this is my 100th post on my blog!!! YAY!!! Juniors was fun! I had Apache #77 again. He seriously drank for at least 10 minutes this morning. I call him a camel for that reason. I was the first on in line to get my horse today so that was kind of fun. I was last time I got Apache too. He was really good except he kept trying to eat the grass. The one downfall about summer. He is a big horse too so I had to use two hands to pull him up. We practiced a bunch for Interclub. Apache would be amazing he has the best show trot ever. Hi lope is also really smooth he just gets tired easily. We got to lope with out stirrups too. It was a little scary but really fun. Then we did some pass throughs and thread the needles. Also a split and circle. It was an amazing ride I enjoyed it a lot. While we were waiting to check in for White Star we saw a Junior 2 rider LOPING on DAKOTA!!!! It was absolutely astounding. Then for White Star I got Delbert #116 OMG he is amazing!!! Seriously a new favorite. He has the hyper spastic energy that I like and he is SO SMOOTH! He responds so quick and it was just flawless and amazing. We didn't do flags though :( but Aline and Danielle rode with us on their horses! It was really fun and it was our best drill ever. We got through it without a single Halt Ho. I rode 1-2 again. I had to miss Jr. Wrangler pictures though because they were during my Whute Star ride. Then for diagramming we just had a walk throughs. I walked positions 1-5 and 1-2. We had to have our walk through on the trail leading up to the Rodeo Arena. It wasn't very wide or even so we were trucking through the grass and tripping in the holes. It was interesting. WestiesGirl called one of the walk throughs! She did great. I got full points back on my Study Guide. The moment of truth finally came and we got our final scores. I got 315/300!!!!!! I couldn't believe it a total perfect score and all extra credit. I was ecstatic. Our final had 82 questions, 5 diagrams, and a sequence test. So then we got cleaned up and ready for J1 pictures. So today was the absolute organized chaos known as picture day. I have never experienced it base team style. Tenderfoot was easy it was just our uniform with the red side tie. (Same for Juniors) But for base teams it was a whole another story. So for Juniors we all got our side ties on and lined up tallest to shortest. I am always in the middle row. I was for Tenderfoot, Juniors, and White Star. I was in the same spot for J1 and White Star too. But Juniors was easy. Camera man said, Ha Ha, and we said He He. Bam were done. So then we run to the white tack truck and talk a little about care and responsibility for our costume bag and extra. Then our bags were placed on a circular rack. We found our bag and then put on our vests. It was amazing actually getting to wear my costume for like 10 minutes. I had issues with my hat band though. We couldn't find one to fit my hat so that took a while but we eventually found one. Then we lined up on the hay bales. Then they brought out our flag. I wish I was in the top row. Two of my friends got to hold the flag. One holding the pole and one the tip of the flag. Our picture was awesome. We were waiting for Brittany to arrive so we played Simon Says. I placed like 2nd. She didn't show so we had to take it without her. Then we packed up our costumes and were done for the day. It was absolutely amazing! I can't wait to do it again in a week for White Ropes. Here is my total scores!

Final Total From Diagramming
Diagrams 1120/1120
Sequence 300/300
Quizzes (With Study Guide Points Added): 240.625/245
Final: 315/300
Extra Credit: 35/35
Total: 2010.625/2000

My LONG Day 5 - 3 - 14

So today was pretty interesting. BOTH baby ponies were our this morning. They were very cute together. So I wrangled in the morning. I helped many kids find there horse in the pasture. During grooming my friend and I helped a girl with Pepper who was moving a little slow. But we managed to get her up and out the door with her team. Then I watched Jr. Grand Entry ride at 8 with flags. It was awesome. My friend did really good. Then I watched White Liberty 4 at 9. Midway through I went and practiced ropes with my friend. Then we watched Precisionettes at 10. At 11 I watched my friend's White Batons class. Then at 12 I went and watched Nighthorse. It was epic. The wolf howling at the beginning of their drill gives me chills every time. They gave out officer ships and my friend got Sargent. (6th in Command). Then at 1 I went and rode my friends horse in the Silver Spur. I got a great amount of practice in for Interclub. Not a ton of loping because he had just done 3 classes and it was REALLY HOT. But I wanted to work on trotting anyway and keeping my seat. So then 3 finally rolled around and I checked in for Ropes. I want it to go back to our other time. We warmed up with our flat loop routine like 3 times. Then we spent 10 minutes on specialties. I decorated my 12 ft ropes with zig zag blue and white duck tape. We did our "drill" one time. It went pretty well. We got let out early after we talked about our costume. Black jeans, white long sleeve blouse, and white shoes. Our pictures are on the 17th. Overall it was a good practice. I watched the T10 ride. They worked on Thread the Needles and Loping. They did pretty good for Tenderfeet! I was impressed. Just a lot of clumping when they start loping. I then helped unsaddle. I stood out like a sore thumb. I was the only Jr. Wrangler there... At least with my bandanna on my head. Buffy stepped on a girls foot. Looked pretty bad. I helped out a bunch of kids. Indigo, Blaze, Brutus, Stormy, Bandit, Blue, A.C (He was being REALLY BAD). I couple others as well. I was one of the last people to leave. The ponies were out in sick bay. Overall I am very tired. But it was so worth it. Here are some pictures from ropes.

Heading out!

Im about to leave for another 11 hour day at Westernaires!!! I will be helping with saddling and unsaddling and hanging out with my friends. Could anyone ask for a better day?
